Here's To Another Savvy Year!
With only two weeks before 2019 kicks in, the bonenkai are most probably over and the Christmas presents are now unwrapped, so it's time to bid goodbye to anything work-related and get in the festive mood. Here is Savvy Tokyo's guide to a perfect end of 2018 and an awesome beginning of 2019 for those staying in Tokyo for the holidays. Dance All Night Long
We Love 80s Disco
Our favorite 80s-themed international disco party is back and better than ever. The music filled event welcomed over 1,200 guests last year in a dynamic 1,000 square meter venue. Again, the venue will be decorated with glitter disco balls alongside other 1980s-style decor and will be serving up free-flowing drinks and snacks throughout the night. Renowned DJ Osshy, a pioneer of the 80s disco movement with more than 30 years of experience, will be spinning a lineup of the greatest 80s dance grooves!

Colorful New Year
Rainbow Bridge Special Light Up
Come enjoy a special light up event on the rainbow bridge! The best spot to see the bridge is by Decks Tokyo Beach in Daiba. You could spend the whole day here, shop during the day and then stop by a restaurant or bar with a view of the bridge at night. Very romantic!

Countdown Party at The Oak Door

Endless Blue
Blue Cave Shibuya
Tokyo’s No.1 winter light display, the Blue Cave, is lit up very, very blue again this year along the koen-dori street towards Yoyogi Park. 600,000 blue LED lights will create the spectacular monotone glow, definitely worth the visit. A great way to calm down and relax away the year-end woes.

The Classics
Classical Concert
Beethoven’s masterpieces, Symphony No.7 and No.9, will be performed near the year end by the Ukrainian National Opera Orchestra, established in 1834. The performance will be conducted by Mikola Jajuula, a graduate of the Kiev National Conservatory of Music.

First Sunrise & Hatsumode at Tokyo Tower
Observe the first 2019 sunrise over the Tokyo Bay to commence the new year in happy spirits. The main deck of the Tokyo Tower will be opening from 6 a.m. giving you plenty of time to find yourself a good spot to observe the sunrise, expected for 6:50 a.m. Forty winners are said to also be selected in a draw to ascend 250 meters higher and enjoy a top deck tour!
