Family Living: Toranomon Hills Residential Tower
Best Serviced Apartments For Families In Tokyo So Far
Location? Tick. Glamour? Tick. Homey and family-oriented? Tick. All you’re looking for in a serviced apartment is care-packaged in Mori Building Co’s Toranomon Hills Residential Tower.
Starting off a new chapter of your life in a foreign country can be nerve-wracking, especially for families. The thorough decision-making you need to go through, from address, the safety of the area, proximity to work and children’s school, then furniture, electric appliances… seems endless. Most importantly, health and security top the list.
The new Asian hub
But these concerns needn’t worry you when you put yourself in the hands of the staff at Toranomon Hills Residential Tower which stands tall in the hippest area of Tokyo. With the Toranomon Azabudai project (official name yet to be decided) opening in 2023, expats are flocking to the residence in anticipation of it being the new Asian hub.
The district houses embassies and residences of governmental personnel, so you can find police positioned on almost every block. Most international schools offer bus pick-up and drop-off services due to the popularity of foreign expats residing in the area, and children can safely walk back home. Additionally, the British School in Tokyo will be moving to the premises of the Toranomon Azabudai project.
Welcome home
Special benefits for residents only are beyond expectations. The palatial entrance welcomes you 24 hours a day with warm ancillary services, including a bilingual concierge, door attendant, porter and valet. Also, from this fall, a Health Consultation Room is scheduled to open on the 2nd floor with a doctor from nearby Jikei University Hospital and a bilingual nurse will be on duty around the clock.
You’re taken care of
All 160 serviced apartment units are equipped with the latest home appliances, including a dishwasher by Miele, and Liebherr refrigerators which have built-in wooden doors. The bathroom area uses monotone tiles and indirect lighting for deeper rejuvenation. Cleaners will come in twice a week to tidy up for you.
Complimentary breakfast is served daily on the first floor, called “Toranomon Hills Kitchen.” The tower is connected to Toranomon Hills Business Tower by a specially constructed pedestrian bridge, cutting the distance to “Toranomon Yokocho,” where there is an array of pubs and restaurants. Mori residents also have the privilege of getting a special discount or services at Mori properties around central Tokyo.
The 25-meter three-lane pool beckons you to take a plunge at the Toranomon Hills Spa, though you might find the dry sauna and fitness gym attractive too. An esthetic salon consists of three treatment rooms with showers. For those beauty-conscious eaters, a café based on the concept of “Natural and Healthy” is planned to open in the autumn.
Guests and support
The lounge, or “Guest House Living and Dining” on the 41st floor, is a space for parties and events. The front and back kitchen are suitable for catering and inviting chefs, and conveniently, your relatives, friend or clients can be accommodated in the two guest rooms.
As for language, yes, Japan is not the most proficient in English speaking as a whole. But there is nothing to fear when you first arrive in this residence, even if this is your first visit to Japan. The concierge at the front desk can support you with all your daily needs.
The residential tower provides the luxury of living in a museum. Masterminds from across the world gathered to create the most elegant, in-vogue, classiest residence of this era. The interior of the establishment is designed by Andaz Tokyo’s interior designer, Tony Chi, founder of tonychi studio.
Live in art
Contemporary art pieces scattered and nonchalantly placed in various communal locations are exclusively created for the establishment and supervised by the Mori Art Museum, a museum inside the Roppongi Hills complex also built by Japan’s leading developer, Mori Building. Mika Tajima’s giant piece transmits a digital audio snapshot rendered into textile materials to portray the serene historical sites of Toranomon merged with the energetic contemporary life. One of my favorites is Genta Ishizuka’s sublime modern round objects painted with traditional lacquer.
Nature is near
Greenery is also a part of art and abundant green is a feature of Mori residences. German architect Christoph Ingenhoven has built a green band stretching from the tower’s lower levels, toward Atago Green Hills and Atago-yama, to incorporate as much nature as possible.
Some people may worry about earthquakes in Japan. The disaster prevention measures and security service are state of the art and can be implemented immediately. Maintenance is constantly and thoroughly conducted.
