Clinton St. Baking Company, Aoyama
We love a long, lazy brunch on a weekend morning. Who doesn't? But sometimes we wish we could have the same comforting breakfast foods on weekdays as well, and Tokyo tends to be short on restaurants that open early enough on weekdays to get in a meal before heading to the office. Now, a New York transplant that recently opened in Minami Aoyama is set to change the breakfast game for Tokyoites.
Clinton St. Baking Company & Restaurant, an American-style diner, is known as the “king of brunch” in its home city of New York. It serves simple, delicious and wholesome breakfast foods such as eggs Benedict, omelets, pancakes, French toast and huevos rancheros, as well as a variety of other foods including sandwiches, burgers and salads.
As the name would suggest, the diner also sells a fantastic range of freshly baked treats, including seasonal pies, muffins, scones and brownies, meaning it’s a great place for comfort food any time of day—even in between meals.
For about the first five weeks it’s in business in Tokyo, Clinton St. Baking Company will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. every day of the week, and from October it will stay open until 11 p.m. We can’t wait to frequent it in order to stave off late-night cravings for a little down-home goodness.
