Dressing for Fall 2015’s Biggest Trends
Fall fashion is pretty straightforward. A little bit of denim, knitwear, boots, some variation of an overcoat, and boom, you are a walking pumpkin spice latte! Although, even with the elemental pieces hanging in our closets, there is a reason we love shopping when the season turns brisk. These basics are the constant in our fall outfit lineup, but patterns, colors and silhouettes are the variables that keep us revamped and on trend. We’ve pieced together some outfit inspirations, applying this year’s biggest trends to your favorite cool weather gear.
Flared Denim
The 70s vibes are all the rage this season, and with them comes flared denim. This ultra-flattering jean pairs well with a tucked in or free flowing blouse, a high heel and oversized frames, taking nods from the disco era. If you don’t already own a pair of flares, now is the time to take the plunge. The trend is so cyclical that you will definitely get use out of them far beyond this season.

Pussy Bow Blouse
Take a basic blouse; add some romance, femininity and an awkward namesake and you have the pussy bow blouse. The necktie top is trending hard this season, and it one-ups your long-sleeved tops, with its fancy tie that can be worn in a bow or left undone. Wear with a mod, A-line skirt and pair it with a boot you may already own like an ankle or lace up bootie.

Head-to-Toe Gray
Pair all of your favorite fall pieces together, make them gray, and you have the monochromatic look of the season. Multiple shades of gray are the chicest way to go head-to-toe in one hue this season. From sweats to shearling, this is one colorway that can work by mixing textures and shades. Just prepare for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” jokes coming in your direction.

Tartan Prints
Plaid never really seems to go away, but this season especially is the time to get your tartan on. Several variations of the red pattern are seen on trousers, capes and even patchwork sweaters. If you are in the market for a new outer coat this season, opt for this pretty print for a bold change up. Let this piece stand out with simple styling and black basics.
