The salon, run by one therapist and also booking only one client at a time, is private and quiet, and conducted to the highest professional standards. Mai is licensed in, and has worked in, the United Kingdom, Hawaii and Australia, as well as her native Japan.

LaPlage’s premier service is sunless tanning, with the aim of providing a beautiful, healthy and natural-looking skin color to fashion- and beauty-conscious clients. The tanning solution used is all organic and gluten free. A fun new option offered is mobile spray tanning. For groups of four or more, Mai will come to you with a mobile tanning tent and provide spray tanning. The hostess gets her spray tan for free!

For those after glamorous eyes, LaPlage offers eyelash and eyebrow tinting, which eliminates the need to apply mascara for two to three weeks. Mai, a licensed hair stylist, will create the perfect look that is complementary to your bone structure, skin, eye and hair color.

My favorite treatments include the re-energizing and detoxifying hot stone massage options and the non-surgical facial lift treatment, which gives visible results after only one session. Waxing services are also offered, and I must admit, Mai’s waxing is relatively pain-free. But the really nice aspect of LaPlage is that every treatment can be customized to the individual needs or desires of the client.

LaPlage also offers massage, waxing, and tanning services for men, but potential male clients must be referred by a female client in good standing.

The salon is located just five minutes on foot from Meguro station, and prices are very reasonable for such intimate, customized service.
