We're happy to welcome March with a long list of events for everyone in the family: special art events and exhibitions, a yet another plum-viewing opportunity, a bread festival, a support group that lets us help each other in rough times, a special film screening on a topic that affects us all, and more. Mot Satellite 2017 Art Installations
Installations of art will be placed in various locations in Kiyosumi-shirakawa in an ambitious project of exploring how the city has changed since the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo first opened in Tokyo 20 years ago. During the project period, artwork exhibits, a workshop, and other events will be held in all participating venues, including the Fukagawa Edo Museum, The Basho Museum, the Stationery Store Azumaya and more. There's nothing like shopping for fresh vegetables and fruits at a true farmer's market on early Sunday morning. Earth Day Market is one of the best established and recognized fresh produce markets in the capital, that aims at linking producers and consumers in providing great mutual — and healthy — deals to all. You can find everything you need here — vegetables, fruit, bread, snacks...all at much more reasonable prices than at your local supermarket.

Artists Rising To Fame
New-Wave Artists 2017 Exhibition
An exhibition introducing the works of five aspiring new artists, selected from the museum's "Best Selection 2016" exhibition. The five artists vary in their area of expertise, ranging from crafts, Japanese-style painting, Western-style, sculpture, and print. A great event for anyone interested in contemporary Japanese art and sculpture.

The Writings On The Wall
Graffiti Cafe & Bar
Stationary company Pentel's newest Art&Cafe collaborative event is called "Rakugaki Factory": in other words: legal, cool and unique graffiti. Customers are welcome to get as creative as they wish and doodle on the wall, chairs, and pretty much everywhere their creative mind wishes to. Apart from the cool experience, you're also invited to savor artsy food and drinks, such as "chameleon" yakisoba or cheese that looks exactly like an eraser. A dream-like place for the kids during day time and adults in need for something new! A special neon night-time graffiti at the bar is also taking place every Friday and Saturday night!

Yokohama Bread Festival
If you love the smell of freshly baked bread, save the date! The biggest bread event in Japan is back in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse with 30 bakeries setting up booths and selling warm bread. A great event for anyone into food, cooking and creative bread chunks!

Sankeien Garden Plum-Viewing
Yokohama's most renowned Japanese garden Sankeien is a great option to feel the spring vibes and marvel at the 600 and something white and pink plum trees. Enjoy a plum tree bonsai exhibition, performances of traditional music, monkey shows (!) and free barley tea (at the park's teahouse, 10am-3.30pm)!

TELL organizes a yet another awareness-raising event, just in time for the International Women's Day. Although it doesn't necessarily fall on the weekend, the free documentary screening of "I Am A Girl" is a must-go. The film raises awareness towards the issues affecting women across the globe by exploring the lives of six girls coming of age around the world, ready to become something extraordinary.
