Summer Events, Festivals and Fun In The City
Great news ahead — it's a long weekend and we have plenty of fun ideas for ways to make the most of it. Pay a visit to Roppongi for one of Ghibli's largest ever exhibitions, enjoy live stages at the Brazilian Festival in Yoyogi Park or invite your friends for a loud night at Barbacoa's beer garden, savoring delicious meat and wonderful cocktails. Also on the agenda are the traditional Mitama Festival at Yasukuni shrine and loads of goldfish and nostalgic Edo motifs in Nihonbashi. Have a wonderful weekend!
Totoro Fever
Ghibli Exhibition in Roppongi
Totoro comes to life at this massive Ghibli exhibition, where fans of Miyazaki and the crew can enjoy an impressive collection of animation materials, including posters and flyers, initial proposals and goods from all of the studio’s movies. Marking the studio's 30th anniversary this year, this exhibition is one of the largest of its kinds as of present, so don't miss out!

Shrine Lights
Mitama Festival
Put aside all political and historical issues Yasukuni shrine is notorious for and come enjoy this spectacular event running until Saturday. The Mitama Festival honors the souls of all dead people and features a variety of performances, food stalls, traditional stages and games—all with a background of some 30,000 yellow lanterns lighting up the shrine, forming a breathtaking sight.

Nostalgic Summer
Eco Edo Nihonbashi
This two-month-long annual event combines two unique aspects of Japanese culture: the nostalgia of Edo and the love of "kingyo" (goldfish) as a symbol of summer. The event features various attractions, including Nihonbashi cruises, goldfish scooping, traditional stalls and of course various kingyo-inspired snacks and treats. This year, visitors can enjoy a display of giant goldfish-themed lanterns along the Naka-dori and entrance to Coredo Nihonbashi, as well as the gorgeous Art Aquarium, a magnificent illumination and projection mapping display to transform glass fishbowls into unique artworks. A wonderful event for the whole family!

Festival Brasil

Port Delights
Yokohama Sparkling Twilight 2016
Yokohama always seems to be one step ahead of everything cool, and when it comes to fireworks, this is no exception! This full-weekend event features human and ship parades during the day, live performances and a lovely 3,000 fireworks as the culmination to a wonderful evening.
