Autumn Leaves
37th Hachioji Ginkgo Festival
Gingko trees are a symbol of autumn in Japan and you can enjoy the golden, seasonal beauty at its best in Hachioji this weekend! There will be tons of stage performances and parades by local dance teams, and lots of booths selling goodies to support the Tohoku region. Of course, good food and drinks are offered as well.

French Art Master
Eugene Carriere Special Exhibition
One of the quintessential 19th Century French Symbolist artists, Carriere is known for his depictions of people and mother-and-child scenes that appear to float hauntingly on the paintings' sepia-toned surfaces. In the exhibits are not only Carriere's iconic dreamlike portraits but also landscapes, which are rare in his works.

Detroit has, and still is suffering from economic collapse, but the Detroit Institute of Arts remains strong as the city's art center. Japan invites a total of 52 renowned works by European artists such as Monet and Gogh for all art lovers.

Japan Fisherman's Festival
Sushi, sashimi, rare fish delights...you'll find it all here. Held for the second time, this festival celebrates fish by inviting seafood exhibitors and top chefs from all over Japan to set up stalls selling the best of the best marine products. Also on the agenda are special entertainment events, including stage performances and presentations. On Nov 20, the festival will close with the Fish-1 Grand Prix, a contest in which the best product will be chosen. So taste them all and don't forget to vote for your fav!

Battling Sexual Violence
Special Film Screening at TELL: The Hunting Ground
TELL and IamJane are partnering together to host a free screening of the critically acclaimed documentary The Hunting Ground, which documents the personal stories of students who have been sexually assaulted on American university campuses. The movie follows survivors who attempt to pursue both their education and justice in face of institutional failures to respond effectively and appropriately to their reports. Following the screening will be a panel discussion highlighting the issues in Japan from a wide range of perspectives including legal issues, reporting, accessing services, and supports for foreigners in Japan.
