What's Happening

As Tokyo is gradually getting ready to embrace autumn — despite the still lingering heat and humidity — we witness a transition from late summer night matsuri madness to a more relaxed event scene. This doesn't mean there won't be excitement and plenty of fun things to do this weekend though — perhaps even more! Here's what to look forward to this week(end).

Cinema Beyond Borders

Kurosawa Travels Around The World: Exhibition

Akira Kurosawa, the legendary Japanese cinema master, often said that "film is a kind of international plaza," where people from every country can come together. Inspired by his words, this exhibition brings together 84 posters of his films from 30 countries in an attempt to understand how his work was seen and appreciated beyond borders, language and culture.
