Art, Cuisine And Early Blooms In The City
Just as the city prepares to turn pink with sakura blossoms, the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to haunt us, cancelling all major events in the city again this week. With some bars possibly open on Tuesday for St. Patrick's Day, all other green events have been cancelled. Here are a few things still available to do in and around Tokyo, however we again highly recommend wearing a mask, washing your hands frequently and checking the latest news. Stay safe and enjoy!

Hanami Picnics Across The City
Following a number of cold weeks, the sakura around the city has finally started to begin to bloom. Although in most areas it may still be a little early, walking around in search of the cities sakura is a fun way to spend the weekend. So grab your camera, a picnic mat, a few drinks and tasty nibbles, and head to any of the famous hanami spots in the capital, such as Shinjuku Gyoen, Ueno Park, Yoyogi Park, Showa Memorial Park, Sumida River, Meguro River, Chidorigafuchi or Inokashira Park, where you'll be able to enjoy the sakura in early bloom! Vibrant Abstract Strokes at Artbar Tokyo

In Memoriam
Peace on Earth 2020
Next Wednesday marks nine years since the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami struck off the coast of Tohoku. This outdoor charity concert and bazaar is Tokyo's largest annual memorial event for the victims of the disaster. Japanese celebrities, activists and musicians will be working alongside NPOs and other charity groups for Tohoku to collect donations and other means of help. There will also be a flower and candle memorial dome where you can pay your respect to the disaster victims. Performances will be available online for those wanting to avoid the risk of infecting the coronavirus.
