Niseko Adventure Centre’s Summer Kids Day Camps
Outdoor Adventures In Niseko’s Nature
Keen to get the kids away from their digital life and into nature?
From the lofty heights of tree trekking in the pine trees of the Niseko Adventure Centre (NAC)’s Adventure Park, to rafting the river rapids around Mt Yotei, the NAC Summer Kids Day Camps are three days of outdoor adventures in Niseko’s nature.
About The NAC Summer Kids Day Camps
The main objective of these day camps, apart from using up your child’s energy during the day for better rest, is to get them out into nature. These days, many children are brought up in city environments with little access or experience in the outdoors. These day camps give the kids a chance to get out amongst nature! They’ll learn of the fun that can be had outdoors, some of the precautions necessary for safe adventures and hopefully an appreciation of nature that can connect into adulthood and lead to a better preservation of our natural resources.
Daily Adventures Include:
- Rafting (8-10 crew rafts on Grade 2-3 rapids)
- SUP or stand-up paddleboard (big inflated surfboards you stand and paddle on)
- Sit-on kayaking (kayaks you sit on top of instead of inside that are hard to flip and great for everyone)
- Adventure park tree trekking (both low courses 2~2.5m and high courses 5~12m catering to the height-challenged and the highest challengers)
- Hiking
- Rock climbing
Day plans will change according to weather and water levels.
All adventures are done with NAC’s own certified and experienced guides.

Niseko in Summer
Niseko is a world-renowned ski destination. But what is their summer like? Weather-wise, Niseko has no wet season, so it’s drier and not as humid as other parts of Japan. From about June onwards locals are seen in shorts and T-shirts.
There is always something to do in Niseko. Apart from all the Niseko Adventure Centre activities, Niseko has several golf courses, various onsen, mountain bike trails and everything from passive hiking around mountain lakes to climbing one of Japan’s top 100 mountains, Mt Yotei.
Niseko is also a very central location to stay. Head north to go around the scenic Shakotan Peninsula or toward the winery area of Nikki and Yoichi and on to Otaru. To the south is Lake Toya and Lake Shikotsu, then to the west is Sapporo. All within a couple of hours’ drive.
From Michelin-star cuisine to humble cafes, there are many great restaurants in the resort area and hidden away in the countryside. Look out for the well-hidden bakeries that are almost impossible to find without a map or navigation.
