Did we hear someone say free grilled fish?! Get your first taste of autumn at this event, where you'll be one of the 3,333 lucky ones to get a free freshly grilled pacific saury delivered straight from Ofunato, Iwate prefecture. Just be sure to get there early for the tokens because sauries are served on a first-come, first-served basis — and they tend to disappear quickly.

Special Exhibition: 400 Years of Arita Porcelain
Celebrating the 400th anniversary of Japan’s renowned porcelain from Arita, Saga prefecture, the "The Compelling Beauty of Arita Ceramics in the Age of the Great International Expositions" exhibition explores the history and beauty of Aritayaki. On display are the famous plates and pots with intricate design patterns, bringing to life the nostalgic Meiji Era aesthetics.

There will also be sweets, snacks, coffee-related books for sale and a special talk show by the founder of San Francisco-born Ritual Coffee Roasters, Eileen Hassi.

Shine On! Kids 10th Anniversary Cool Japan Extravaganza
Save the date. Shine on! Kids, a Tokyo-based foundation supporting children with cancer and other serious diseases, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special event, titled "Cool Japan," inviting you to come, share and support. The event is held on Oct. 1, a week from now on, but please reserve your seat in advance. Dress in something "cool" (a.k.a red, white, and black) and enjoy a night of good food and drinks, auctions, raffle, entertainment, dancing and fun for a good cause.
