This ultra cute pop-up café is the perfect brunch-with-the-kids spot.

We all know (or at least have come across at least once) Penelope, the popular French picture book series written by Anne Goodman and illustrated by Georg Hallensleben. Published in 2003, the book franchise follows the life of an adorable three-year-old blue koala who loves playing, learning and finding trouble. Having sold over three million copies in Japan, the book — and the character — are especially adored here. So much that now we’re having a Penelope Café in town!

Located on the 4th floor of the Marronnier Gate in Ginza, the pop-up café is dedicated solely to Penelope and her world, in celebration of the book’s 15th anniversary.

The café menu is filled with fun tasty options inspired by Penelope, her friends and styles and there are a number of great brunch and lunch options that are almost too cute to eat.

The special lunch menu (available until 3 p.m.) comes with a main dish, drink of your choice and a slice of cake for just ¥1,480 and for what I can tell after eating the whole thing in an instant — it is genuinely delicious!

Penelope Café also has adorable milk drinks, priced from ¥900 to ¥1,200, that come with cookies bearing our lovely koala’s face.

As you can expect, the café is also filled with countless Penelope-inspired toys and even has a photo spot at the back where you can take a few snaps with a giant Penelope stuffed toy. You can also check out a number of the classic picture books as well as see a range of artworks dedicated to the Penelope world.

If you haven’t had enough while at the café, it also has a little store that sells numerous Penelope goods and souvenirs to browse or buy.

Penelope Café has a very cute and cozy atmosphere perfect for parents with babies or kids, couples or those looking for an Insta worthy cafe, and even single souls who just need a break from the grey Tokyo concrete.

The Penelope Café will only be available until March 31st, 2019 so pay it a visit before it’s too late!
