Online Event: Nippon Domannaka Festival

The annual Nippon Domannaka Festival which usually takes place at Nagoya’s Hisaya Odori Park will be available for everyone this year online. The festival is all about dancing and dance teams performing their moves with a Japanese instrument called Naruko in special costumes that represent their local region. This year all submissions took place online and will be streamed on Youtube and NicoNico. The finale dance you can also participate in #どまつりチャレンジ will be held on Tiktok.

Connecting To The Future

Tokyo Skytree Virtual Fireworks

Tokyo Sky Tree is honoring the cancelled Sumida River Fireworks, which was supposed to take place on July 11th this year, with a special virtual screening instead. Until the end of August, the round theater on the Tembo deck of the tower will be lit up to portray the flashes of colorful fireworks. For those who want to stay home, you can also watch the past fireworks from the point of view of the Sky Tree on Youtube.
